I
am a 30 year old family man and whilst not working or spending time my wife and
two sons, I love to take photos.
As you can see I enjoy taking a range of photos from wildlife and
landscape to people. I live in the Stirling area which is a great
base for various locations including the Trossachs. In terms
of equipment
I started off with a Canon EOS 300D SLR with the kit lens. My
first buy was a Tamron 28 - 300mm super zoom which was great value for
money but after 4 years I decided to upgrade.
I now use a Canon EOS 40D as my main camera and a Canon EOS 30D as my second body. I have the following lenses and have linked these to a website I found useful for reviewing photography kit.
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4 L USM - which I find great for landscapes or larger groups of people.
Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II
- is fantastic lens for the money and is ideal
for portraits.
Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro - a brilliant macro lens and allows for an alternative in low light.
Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0 L USM - a super zoom lens and great value for money.
as well as a
Canon Speedlite 430EX Flash - which I would say is the item that makes the most difference when taking pictures of people, especially indoors. I would recommend
anyone buys a good quality flash before investing in expensive lenses,
the difference between this and the pop up flash is amazing and gives
your photos that "professional" look.
